PostHeaderIcon Is there an easy way to build night/unaided hours for helicopter pilots?

helicopter jobs

I’m a newly winged Army aviator, and I’m looking at jobs as a pilot in the civilian sector. I know I’m a ways off from the minimum hour requirements, but the one that always throws me off is ‘100 hours night unaided,’ or something to that effect. As an army helicopter won’t take off without SOME way to see in the dark, we only fly one hour unaided every six months. Is there some sort of apprenticeship program on the outside, or am I just going to have to pay out of pocket for the flight time?

PostHeaderIcon can any body tell me for low time jobs for helicopter pilots out of the usa? And how i can contact with them?

Please if u know any contact or site please teel me about it.

PostHeaderIcon How old do I have to be to go to Helicopter Flight School?

helicopter school

I am 13 and live in Minnesota. I would like very much to become a helicopter pilot, but I want to know how old i have to be to attend flight school. I don’t want a license yet, and I know the age is 16 for a student license. Does this mean I have to be 16 to go to school?

PostHeaderIcon What Helicopter pilot jobs allow you to have a family life?

helicopter jobs

I have been looking very seriously at going to helicopter flight school and understand the “entry level” process. Get ratings - work as a flight instructor to get 1000 hrs - get a job in G.O.M., tour industry, fire fighting, to earn more time to go on to the next level. This is were I get confused, I mean what are the greatest jobs - corporate? I respect paying my dues and working some not so desirable jobs but would like to end up making o.k. money and sleeping in my bed most of the time, is that possible????

PostHeaderIcon Can I get a refund for a faulty helicopter?

new york helicopter

I bought a helicopter from a street vendor in Trenton last week. Despite the helicopter being stolen from the roof of a bank in New York, he assured me it was in perfect condition. He said if it had any problems for a year, he would pay for the repairs or refund my money.

After realizing I didn’t need to fly anywhere, I decided to use the blades to remove some old trees and my neighbor’s shed from my property. The helicopter’s blades broke off, though, and then the motor caught fire. I tried to contact the man who sold me the helicopter, but he moved to another street. How can I find the guy so he can return my money? I needed the money to pay for my rent, anyway; I didn’t actually plan to keep the helicopter.

PostHeaderIcon Helicopter Pilot job outlook/availability?

helicopter jobs

Currently an EMT. Was going to goto fire school but I had a major injury (torn achillis) so thats out of the question. I’m checking out going to chopper school. I’ve seen some jobs here and there but really not too many.

Are there lots of helicopter jobs out there, entry and professional levels?

I know you can become a flight instructor, how much a year would you make doing that?

I live in Florida and the oil rigs in the gulf I know hire pilots to go back and forth. Is that lucrative? Do they hire entry level pilots?

The school I’m looking at has an FAA/JAA course for only about 1/4 more. I’ve been also thinking about moving out to the UK… does anyone know if they have lots of jobs out there and do you make good money?

PostHeaderIcon Is helicopter flying my ambition in life?

helicopter jobs

I just thought of doing this maybe a week or two ago. I’ve always loved helicopters, Longbow, Hughes 500 etc.

I’m probably going to get a job shipping/receiving, for some helicopter shop on a small airport near the rich side of mesa.

Go to college at MCC for my bachelors in Aeronautical Science, join the Army as a Warrant Officer. Go threw 2-3 years of tests, BCT, and Flight School. Then perhaps be an airline pilot or something.

However, some times I don’t just dwell over it. Does this mean that this isn’t my ambition in my lifetime? Do I have to dwell over it, and think of it at least everyday? Maybe I just got excited for the moment? I mean I love helicopters, not thinking about that, but chasing after the ambitions is different. Maybe I think that it would be to hard of a goal? I know I can do it. But for some reason the other half, the quiet half, doesn’t want to speak up..

IDK!

Any suggestions? And yes, I do look for an Apache when I here one. One time I heard 2 53s
